Seven players per team on the field. Six plus a goalie. No less than five may be used to start a game.
Substitutions may be made on the fly when the ball is in or out of play. The referees permission is not required.
There are no off-sides.
Teams are responsible to hang one net prior to kick-off. Teams must also take down their net and return equipment to the store-room immediately after the game.
Teams should be ready to start the game at kickoff time. Games will consist of two twenty-five minute halves.
All free kicks outside of the penalty area are indirect. Fouls in the penalty area will result in a penalty shot from top of Goalie penalty area. The goalie must stay on her line until the ball is kicked. The ball is in play if it rebounds off the goalie or the goal posts.
Slide tackling is illegal. The goalie may slide tackle within the penalty area but not feet first. A player may slide to control the ball as long as it is not in the direction of another player and was not dangerous in the referee's judgement.
The goalie may not control the ball with her hands if it is passed to her by her own player, including throw-ins.
Three points are awarded for a win and one for a draw. There is no overtime or shoot-out during the regular season.
Tie-breaker for season ending standings will be head to head, most wins, adjusted goal differential, goal differential, then goals for.
Three yellow cards will result in a one game suspension.
Any red card will result in at least a one game suspension. Any red card for fighting, punching or kicking an opponent will result in at least a balance of the season suspension including play-offs.
Seven games must be played for playoff eligibility.
Players carded to LAWSL's Premier, First or Second Divisions are not permitted for play. Players playing in the LAWSL Over 30 Division are permitted, to a maximum of 3 per team.
Players under the age of 18 are not permitted to play.
Teams are to have a minimum of 10 registered players. All registrations must be completed before a player can play on the field.
